DYLAN PENNER, NATIONAL COORDINATOR
We are excited to share with you that Dylan Penner has joined Labour for Palestine - Canada as our first National Coordinator.
Dylan (he/him) is an anti-Zionist Jewish white settler based in unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin territory in Ottawa. He has been campaigning, organizing, and building coalitions in the labour and Palestine liberation movements for 25 years.
Dylan has been a shop steward, lead negotiator at his Bargaining Unit, Vice President of his local, and convenor and coordinator of Ottawa’s first Unifor Area Council.
He has also led campaigns, communications, and organizing efforts at Independent Jewish Voices, Not In Our Name: Jewish voices opposing Zionism, the Canadian Boat to Gaza, the Council of Canadians, People for Postal Workers, the Ottawa Peace Assembly, the Toronto Coalition to Stop the War, and the Canadian Peace Alliance.
Dylan has played a leading role in successful efforts to stop pipelines and voter suppression. He has organized dozens of protests and pan-Canadian days of action, get out the vote campaigns, speaking tours, and activist training programs. He has also written hundreds of press releases, including while aboard a freedom flotilla boat bound for Gaza during a high speed pursuit by the Greek Coast Guard.
Dylan has already begun making important contributions to our political strategy, coordination, chapter support, communications, organizing, and fundraising, including for our Hot Cargo Kills National Day of Action on May 9.
